Thinking of getting an apple watch because I am getting more into fitness and I read that the step and calories burned on my phone aren't that accurate.
I've never been a big watch guy, and idk if it's just me but I think they don't look the best and maybe seem a little cringey to me, but idk.
Been thinking the same
Series 3 isn't really pricey it's $199. I just don't want to become an apple watch type of guy if that makes sense idk probably doesn't.

Got one myself and my girl got one shortly after (Series 3)
Can say that we do not regret it at all. Love it tbh but ive always liked having a watch on my wrist so maybe bias
thinking about it too, but the LTE version
yeah was wondering if it's worth the extra 100.. seems like it would be
Got one two days ago
Was going to make a thread
I got the series 5
It’s my first Apple Watch and I’m in love
If you're seriously into fitness/endurance sports you should probably also check out all the brands like Garmin (primarily), Polar, Suunto, Amazfit etc
You lose a lot of smartwatch stuff but you get more fitness stats and longer battery life
Otherwise yeah the Apple Watch is fine.
I'd suggest at least the 4th version if you can, cause its HR sensor is great (but still not better than a 30 dollars chest strap)
What do y’all use them for? Always wondered what the point of it was if you have your phone with you
I had one and ended up selling it because I never used it

Working out mostly.
The Apple Watch seems nice but I'm not sure how much more usable for everyday stuff it would be over any $30 basic smart watch with Sleep + Fitness data for me personally
i think its apples best product in recent years next to the Airpods.
things i use it for
working out
primarily use it when im at the office / outside to read notifs, if its important ill get my phone, otherwise just read and ignore. always have my phone on dnd, watch gets all notifs
little things like weather / time / calender
control music
alarm / sleep tracking (id rather have my watch buzz than the traumatizing iphone alarm sound)
paying stuff (can use apple pay at literally every shop here)
Wait a couple months and cop the Series 5 on sale when the Series 6 goes on sale. It's a handy piece of tech, I think it's worth it. As someone who's used both SS and Aluminum though just cop the Aluminum.

just to add onto this, if you work out a lot with it on get the Aluminium or the Titanium ones. I moved from the aluminium series 3 to the stainless steel series 5 and didn't expect there to be such a noticeable weight difference. Not a dealbreaker at all but just something to consider

If you have insurance from work like a wellness account, you can use that to claim benefits, I got 250 from insurance off from Apple Watch series 5. I got the watch mainly for notifs at work so I don’t have to pull out my phone as I am constantly meeting with clients, etc. It’s amazing for fitness, and I love how it unlocks my Mac. I really love the info it shows on the watch, at least the way I set up my watch face. It is more so a supplement for Apple products, like for music I can adjust the songs/volume thru watch when I have my AirPod pros plugged in or music playing through my Sonos. I like how it makes things a lot more convenient
