This is subjective but I notice alot of people simply don't have the time nor mindstate to finish more than half the games in their catalogue anymore

I remember on PS2 It was so easy to just switch between 3-5 games each session vs the 1-2 it feels like I can handle atm. games becoming such a mind grabbing experiences actually de-motivates me to play others

valid observation. i’ve been fatigued by open worlds tbh

Witcher 3 did that to me. While the s*** was great, it took such a LONG time to finish. When I beat it, I stopped playing 35+ Hour games for a good min lol

True . Trying to finish a 85 hr long game in its entirety when you got other life stuff going on is the deal breaker That’s 3 days and and some change probably spread out the whole month to finish just that one game. And most games today are robust asf

Assassins Creed Odyssey, which is my 1st AC playing in length, did this to me.

Yea I feel that. My favorite games lately have been God of War and TLOU2. Both games are pretty linear and focused. Those open-worlds with endless side quests and collectibles and massive maps can be draining for sure.

I hated how it forced you to do side missions to level up enough to do the main mission

Yeah sometimes I be thinking, I could be studying, I could be out with friends, I could be talking to this girl, I could be doing this or that hate that s***

I think is more because growing up and becoming adults/having a job makes it harder to find time for videogames.
