Do we still have albums to look forward to that have tangible dates?
Am I overreacting and missing something? I mean im used to seeing the month of March/April and thinking "okay sweet this person is dropping on the 13th this person on the 23rd" ect ect. It was nice to have these drops to look forward to. Feel like I dont see that whatsoever anymore
Are the days of quality big music releases dead?
COVID has pretty much slowed the drop rates of artists, and these artists also want to tour, so they're holding off of releasing anything.
@op will soon learn that a pandemic has been going on for the last year and a half.
Wym? Didn’t Uzi put a release date on EA?

okay what about some notable big time release dates in 2018-2019?
Only works for good music
I think artists are way more flexible with release dates now because you don’t have to have CDs and s*** pressed and shipped to the store by a certain date anymore

Less criticism if you surprise drop.
You take away the hype
And the crazy expectations that come with time.

is that better or worse for the quality of albums

The Weeknd announced a release date to After hours
No highly anticipated album has dropped in a while

Barely.
For the type of music I listen to I'm in a drought right now.
Also Big release dates died more when they removed bundles.
Pre-ordering and s***..

i feel this is a scary trend
For sure a thing of the past.
No more dates of albums 3 months in advance. No lead up. No anticipation. Covid only amplified this.
