Certain subs on Reddit have a good with how they make replies work. Replies to a post must meet a specific character/word count without being spam or else they get automatically deleted by a bot. Does a great job of preventing s***posts and promotes quality discussions.

some people don't want to admit that they're addicted either especially niggas around here since it's primarily dudes and addiction is seen as a weakness blah blah etc. that whole "ktt is not social media" thing is literal cope at its finest

it's amazing to me how little everyone pretends to not care on this site, yet they come here and argue/post everyday with niggas, let alone making fun of people for regularly using the site, while regularly using the site yourself

Could work ig. I suggested a music discussion section before where people could go to actually discuss music instead of having people rush their oneliners but the people in charge don't seem to care for that.

tbh I dont ever remember KTT being a music discussion place even when I first came on here backin 2016. It's always been about s*** posting.

Nah I think they care it's just hard to implement that if they don't have the means to do it properly. S has frequently said that keeping this forum up as is costs him mad bread for very little in return.

Nothing wrong with long posts at all. Most of my posts/threads are pretty long winded and always have been. It comes at the cost that unfortunately 90% of the people who engage with long posts don’t read. They skim and get mad at certain things without the full context because they didn’t actually read the post. I personally love long posts because they are thought out which you can’t say for a large portion of the content on here.

yeah that's one of the downsides of the current thread feed "algorithm", which only factors in the time of the last reply - it results in bias towards short replies that dont really engage with the post

this is why we're already experimenting with different sort orders to thread lists in music sxn, and why the default app feed uses a more noticeable — but still pretty simple — algorithm for the feed. (reverse chronological order of last reply is still an option)

right now the posts you see at the top are pretty much just "which threads did someone happen to reply to 5 seconds before i tapped on the music sxn"

anyway long posts are not bad. they can be v good. and we 100% want to give more visibility to long write-ups by balancing out the current biases

@op you just gotta understand this site is cliquey like that. Yeah it’s lame but that’s just how it is. We all probably get talked about in these private sections/discords. That’s just how some of these grown men move. Don’t let that bother you tho. I might not always agree with you but you’re a good posters and I do enjoy your music section posts.

That's not what I meant to convey. There is music discussion in music szn. There's also plenty of threads that get derailed pretty quickly without recovering.
