None of them are great technical singers compared to actual r&b niggas but they make up for it with their melodies and lyrics and the passion in their performances

No and that’s probably part of why they’re superior to singers in terms of melodies in recent years.

• elaborate vocal ability can’t get in the way of phrasing and notation
• they actually make melodies unlike a lot of singers

Singers have taken a dip and I suggest they learn a thing or two from melodic rappers in regards to melody (and by learning I don’t mean hopping on cheap trap beats)
