Feel like this is a huge reason why socialism has died down in the western world. Most people are just no longer true working class anymore and aren't facing the hard exploitation anymore
people in western “developed” countries have it way better than people else where so technically to people in nations not in that category, we are all better off than them
65% of America lives paycheck to paycheck and a really small percentage work for themselves. So, in America at least, no, most people aren't.
@op petty bourgeois means there is an ownership of private property where wealth is extracted
Most of the West doesn’t do that. However, since we do exist in the imperial core, we receive the runoff of the richest people who benefit from imperialism, which is things like lixury goods
its petite bourgeoisie btw
“When the people shall have nothing more to eat, they will eat the rich.”
We eating cake
Americans are too stupid to realize they are being divided and exploited for cheap labor.
Nah i disagree, being bourgeois or not is about your relations to private property, not your living standards
Same thing
lol
in the grand scheme of things were all spoiled

No they realize it. Every one of them realizes it. They’re just too divided by socioeconomic factors to unite and do anything meaningful about it.

So youre telling me if i can find a way to plunge half the country into poverty, they will rise up against their oppressors?
Economic status is a continuum, partitioning it into working class, petty bourgeoisie, and bourgeoisie is outdated and incorrect
Ask Jamaicans about socialism and they’ll tell a different story. I’m not sure if they universally oppose it but it was eventually not accepted there. They’re also fundamentally hard workers so I don’t think there’s a correlation.
Idk I don’t feel very bougouisee
Thats crazy thats my whole ass saturday vibe right there

Just as soon as we can reach across the aisle and turn the kentucky hillbilly types, we can get something going. Another overlooked problem/roadblock is the Mormons. They vote along right side party lines and believe most of the propaganda. Might not be vocal but its engrained in there. This inflation and covid help being cut off actually could be looked at as an opportunity
