Seems to be just adlibs with the CDQ version playing in the background when I watch on youtube. Only Kendrick and Earl actually seem to rap.

  • sad as it is saying this about my GOAT, Wayne is terrible live, which, in hindsight, I maybe, should've expected

Only in hip hop and r&b it seems. Indie (rock) music actually provide a live experience. I remember seeing D'Angelo and he performed really amazingly. Even G-Eazy (an artist I don't like) performed well when I randomly saw him live. But most rappers just adlib and let the crowd sing. But I guess people love that with hip hop.

Only shows I've been to were Kendrick and Gambino but both were phenomenal.

probably because they have a live band accompanying them, too.

Most rappers use spotify to curate and play the instrumentals for their live performances (with the vocals still intact, of course).

It's even worse for feature-driven artists, like French Montana; he might as well just be a DJ.

Most rappers too cheap or can't afford a live bands. Also most of the music is made on FL Studio and wouldn't sound good live anyways.
