Also do you happen to know how to find the right drum loops for jungle/acidhouse/idm?
Ive been playing around and cant find a drum break that, sped up, sounds right
S*** sounds goofy

yes sir. i used this site to get all my initial breaks when i started makin beats
theres another one but i forgot the name of it. if in find it, I'll let you know
for jungle the top breaks are:
amen
hot pants
think
funky drummer
helicopter / sesame street
bongo
do the do
skull snaps
these are essential. you can experiment with less used breaks better suited for hip hop, but like you've noticed, certain breaks just dont sound right or are wonky to chop up.
pro tip: if you notice the og breaks sounds a lot different from the ones you here in records. an old school technique i and the og's i learned from use is called resampling
basically what you do is you speed up the break to tempo, eq it, compress it, add other effects if you want, then render it out as a .wav file, then resample that new wav file and use that for your break edits
the og Bizzy B did a tutorial explaining it
Because that s*** died out. It went jungle>drum&bass>dubstep and that was that. There's a documentary on this called all my homies hate Skrillex. it's actually p good if you're interested in the subject.
came back to say i watched the doc. Very informative, the creator of that vid is a good story teller.
I feel like im going back to my old ways as a youth listening to monstercat
