I don't see a real deal male rap superstar being a thing again, not for awhile at least.
Maybe La Reezy will really pop off. He's gotten Kendrick and Tyler co-signs, and Tyler is really pushing for him hard lately. He's got talent and tracks with a great message for the young generation.
On a side note, I'm kind of shocked at the lack of mention of Chris Crack's album "White People Think God Left Them In Charge"(yes...that's the title lol).
I personally enjoy the album just as much as the Clipse and Gibbs albums this year.
Chris was actually rapping his ass off over some soul sampled beats and the songs are short and to the point.
I totally recommend it.

Circling back to this now after Joe Budden claims on his podcast that Drake not being great is causing things to change in the industry
:
You hip-hop heads are obsessed with numbers and hype, shouting AOTY every week to circlejerk then rinse and repeat people don't like music, they like the idea of liking music
This shift came long ago with social media
