As humans, we’re obviously going to be selfish by nature, but I’ve been thinking about how bad things have gotten even over the past couple of years. I feel like there’s a big social trend where everything one does, should be for themselves. There’s a mentality of “if this doesn’t __ for me”, I will exclude it from my life. This is something you see with hot summer where it’s like “if I don’t like it, I drop it”. While I think it’s important to look out for yourself and do things that bring you pleasure, I feel like a lot of toxic behavior and selfishness has been getting masked as “self-care”. Then it’s the same people that partake in this wondering why people won’t behave the way they want them to. I feel like it’s created a big loss in societal values. Ik this is word vomit, but yeah. Thoughts?
