    DJ Akademiks is premiering disses

Kanye is dropping tracks on his site

Carti is dropping on YouTube and IG

Feels like labels are becoming less invested in hip hop and the people are less interested in playing the industry games (in rap at least, Taylor is always gonna be Taylor)

It might be time for a mixtape era resurgence, we just need a new site to pick up where DatPiff (RIP) and Soundcloud left off

New generation of listeners would have no idea how to listen

    That’s the problem

  • Idk, I always saw mixtapes as the type of thing where you had to be cool with samples not being cleared and never being able to officially release it.
That feels like a bigger ask today than before

Drake had to drop it on streaming.

But yes I hope something changes bc streaming is making music content to be consumed instead of art.
