  • I got a big exam coming up next month and I need some tips from KTT's finest test takers. What's your methods? How do prepare? How you get better?

I'm not a terrible test taker, but I get performance anxiety sometimes and be wasting precious time second guessing myself.

Well my method is first guess how much time you'll need to prepare properly for your exam. Then as that first day starts, put in an hour or so, you know? I always start slow because I don't really study except for when exams approach (Procrastination and all that you know, unfortunately) so I got to warm my brain up for what's to come. But Newton's first law, right? An object in motion wants to stay in motion. But first you gotta get your brain in motion. Next day do 2 hours or so. Slowly ramp it up. I usually cap it at 4-5 hours a day unless I feel I need to do more to make it. Every 10 minutes I usually do something else for 5 minutes.

Depends on the kind of test.

    Generally speaking, don't cram.
Be prepared and used space repetition to remember what you need to.

During the test, check how many questions there are before you start so you know how much time you can spend on average on each question. Also your first answer is usually the right answer. Make sure you read the questions right.

When you’re studying, take notes, check the textbook for study guides, if it’s a regular book look online for synopses. Pick out terms and key concepts

During the test, answer everything you definitely know first. For multiple choice questions narrow down the answers you know are wrong. Look through the whole test for any kind of clues about other answers.

If it’s an online test, there’s probably a quiz let with all of the answers. Just copy paste the question and you’ll find it.

I study for 6 hours, but space my time out throughout the day and use the pomodoro method. Good results on my practice exams but I feel I could do even better.

Dont have to have water with you.
Just drink a glass or two before the test.

Try to stay positive that you're gonna pass the test
Its stupid but convincing yourself that you can pass it will guide you a long way.

    Good luck man

Basically this but also like many other already said take notes because they can come in clutch when you have a ton of s*** to study, studying your notes is faster than studying books plus writing down s*** helps memorizing it

Eat lots of protein the morning of the exam. Eggs, sausage, bacon, chicken all solid choices. Try to take practice exams too if they're available and make sure you're timing yourself and pacing correctly.

Yeah definitely. I've never studied straight from a book, just other people's summaries which were very concise. Whatever I can't remember, I take notes of on a seperate sheet of paper so I can easily cram that.

Also make sure you write your notes down on paper. You'll remember them way better (as opposed to typing). Muscle memory of writing the correct answer goes a long way
