It’s very difficult being a ye fan.
I was wearing a DONDA sweatshirt a few weeks ago and the girl I was with started going off about the the whole “slavery was a choice…” thing
Whenever ye is brought up at work or in public, someone will say something against him to test the waters and see how people respond. Most of the time people respond negatively and see if others join in.
This might be a silly topic, but are you guys able to be open ye fans in all of your circles?
Half the students at college I went to wore ye merch/yeezys & bang ye @ parties / in the whip/ etc. it’s gotta be a location thing I guess
fought tooth and nail at work during the original Donda listening parties.
two coworkers were like "i didnt even know he was relevant anymore" when dude is still dropping #1 albums and is arguably one of the most discussed figures in pop culture
I say I like Kanye but I actively avoid discourse about him with friends. They always super misinformed and it's not worth the conflict especially since some people have such strong opinions about him.
If someone asks what music I like, sure. I don't base my personality off the artists I like so I don't feel the need to tell people for no reason.
Yes. It also happens to be one of the best way to attract attention in some settings.
Just walking in the room and saying you were a ye fan during 2018 era would just cause a fun s*** short for the fun of it

You not a real Ye fan, if you can't admit it in public
real Ye fans, how many of us?
I was a closet ye fan for 5 years. I had to hide the fact in weird ways when they would get suspicious (ex. explaining that the Stem Player was a s***toy, not a Kanye West music device). I recently just came out to my family and they have since forced me out of my state and have disowned me. Would not recommend

people who equate their own ignorance to the actual state of the culture are the worst lol
no f***ing way anyone ever gonna find i was ever a konye fan
i straight up trashed a pair of og yeezy, and all my GITD/yeezus and tlop tour merch into a dumpster
debating not telling people explicitly anymore though, mainly just woman
girls who fw ye >>
Yeah and I get a lot of s*** for it but I'm not a stan of Kanye the person either and if someone brings up his wild s*** I can usually have a balanced conversation about that and bring it back to the music, which I still love. As long as the music is good, I'll still call myself a fan. Many of my favorite artists do and say things I don't agree with.

yea would be cool, but last two ladies have tried so hard getting me Ye related gifts for different occasions. one end up getting me slides tho and im forever grateful for em. the other was the "eras" canvas that you see everywhere. while i love and appreciate it, I never would have bought it myself, and want to further make sure that i dont receive ye related gifts again. unless its Yeezy or clothing he put out
