I’m not rich and think it’s backwards to flex designer pieces when I don’t even have a car or my own apartment (although I live in NYC to be fair) and don’t feel comfortable splurging on food, travel or bottle service at a club
Seems like your shame is very deeply rooted. you deserve so much better for yourself. Allow yourself to enjoy the things you like without an ounce of guilt. Shame and guilt will actually eat you alive. It'll take time but you have to just stop giving a hoot what others think of you and truly live for yourself. Cheers!
It’s a hobby just enjoy it ! Everyone is on different paths in their life and doing s*** differently. Four years ago I was poor ass college student and I would spend my small paychecks on s*** on Grailed while I was in a s***ty dorm lol. It probably looked backwards to ppl but whatever lol, everyone has something they spend too much money on, ours is just looking fly when we go out
As long as you’re making more money than you’re spending you shouldn’t have to be self-conscious.
I understand the feeling of spending money on ‘useless’ and relatively expensive clothes whilst not owning an apartment (or car) in a major city, but I’d rather rent an apartment here than live in a purchased home in a small town during this phase of my life. Plus, the extra money I’d save if I were not to buy clothes wouldn’t make a difference anyway, because housing is ridiculous even outside of cities.
worry about what people think but know you can't do anything about it and don't let it affect you

“Fuck it we ball (responsibly)” type energy 😎
No, not anymore
Some of my less fashion-forward friends sometimes throw light shade saying things like “function over fashion 🤓”
But everyone in the room knows they’re just coping
like others already said, as long as ur having fun and financially responsible you deserve to indulge a lil, its a hobby after all :)

i get what you saying but op is legit telling us he doesn’t want to splurge until he gets to where he wants to be which is good discipline lol
this has nothing to do with fashion...and everything to do with your lack of self worth and low confidence #SS
