Schools should play this video at the start of the year for kids and then send it to their parents so they can watch it too

Ever since I found out there were people who take pics of your kids and roleplay as them — — I pulled a bunch of content of my daughter off of socials.

After watching this, I might just go scrub the rest

Anyway, I only share videos of her on close friends now

posting your kids on social media will destroy their credit score

But also this video is kinda dumb because none of their reasons have anything to do with kids specifically??

Like you could post videos of your grandma and the same s*** could happen.

yeah it's more ai fear mongering than anything. if you don't want people to see your kids make your accounts private. you're able to post pictures of your kids online and stop this from happening.

Advancements in technology undoubtedly bring conveniences and improvements to our lives. However, the rapid pace of innovation in recent decades could have catastrophic consequences if not approached with wisdom and foresight.

As emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, gene editing, and nanotechnology grow more powerful, they bring risks as well as benefits. AI and automation threaten to disrupt economies and concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a techno-elite. Genetic engineering may permanently alter human biology in ways we cannot foresee. Nanobots introduced into bodies could replicate out of control.

Technological ambitions also tend to outpace ethical safeguards. Where is the line between privacy invasion and security? At what point does human enhancement become a repudiation of nature? Technologies designed for progress can be co-opted for control and oppression if idealism ignores human faults.

History shows even well-intentioned discoveries are fraught with challenge. The power unlocked by splitting the atom brought us nuclear energy but also the ever-present threat of nuclear war. Social media was meant to connect people but has fueled divisions and channeled darker impulses.

With technology, there are rarely straightforward solutions. Trade-offs emerge. Disruptions cascade. Benefits accrue to some faster than others, leading to tensions and backlash. We must approach the future conscious of paradoxes and prepared for sacrifices.

Technology will march forward, as it should. But civilization cannot allow blind faith in innovation to outpace wisdom. Progress must be guided by core humanistic values—compassion, justice, dignity. If we grow complacent, technology may consume what it means to be human. The task is urgent. We must temper technology with conscience before our humanity becomes computation.

The potential is immense but so is the peril. The choice belongs to all—use technology as a means for human flourishing or allow it to become the instrument of our demise. Tread carefully, for the world hangs in the balance.

Not really exclusive to children, but there’s definitely going to be weirdos doing stuff with public images of children.

Yeah but they are specifically addressing the needs of the kids since they can't provide their consent and its the parents who are responsible for them at that age.

I agree with the idea but unsure if the social dilemma type dystopian beat is all that helpful

TikTok should be banned for anyone under 18

How bout you only post your kids once in a while insyead of constant, or how bout you control who can view your posts of your kids so it isnt as public

And also dont post pics of your kids basically naked or something else like that obviously

    How bout have some commonsense

  • Aug 20, 2023

Treat the internet like outside public (whicb it basically is) and you wont have even half the issues of social media.

Dont overshare for no reason online like you wouldnt at school.

Dont post crazy pics of yourself like you would want to be seen that way at a doctors office.

Dont randonly s*** on people for no reason like you wouldn't at the store.

    Etc.

So since they do so we should tell parents ayo its cool to put pics of them online since in public someone can take their pics anyways ?

Its an awareness campaign since a bunch of people stupidly put pics of their kids online without thinking of s*** like this. They stupidly think there’s no dangers to social media and just put their whole kids infant life on there thinking there’s no repercussions in making it so easily available

I saw a story about this woman who found out some person had made an instagram account using pictures of her child, and the person was pretending to be the child.

Apparently it’s some sort of trauma response from people who had miscarriages, lost children at a young age, or maybe had some childhood traumas themselves and never got to really be children. Still creepy and invasive af
