Let’s take some time for some honest self reflection here. I see a lot of people on here that consistently have negative takes on music. Some are just extremely picky and others actually seem to enjoy hating on everything and trying to incite hostile debates.

I also see people who are generally objective everytime they post and trend towards positive most of the time. When they don’t like something there’s typically well thought out reasoning behind it.

Perception is 100% reality. Some people walk around in a world where anything that falls outside of their narrow preferences is trash (a lot of those people get paid to review music which is highly unfortunate imo) Other people like myself exist in a world where free creativity is honored and most music is appreciated unless it’s poorly executed or contrived.

So what side are you on? Are you someone who calls something trash as soon as it fails to excite you or are you someone who is patient with music and takes the time to give it proper a***ysis before passing judgement?

Be honest with yourself about your opinions over the past few years: Have you been negative about most new music thinking everything is mid or have you been positive and open minded and enjoying the new releases?

I go into most things with an open mind but if, let's say an album, doesn't quickly grab me within the first few songs I'm not really going to go back to it

I think its the opposite on here when theres a big new drop lol, if you ever go into an album thread when it just comes out everyone is acting like its the best album of all time for about 2 hours

I think part of this is the people listening right at midnight are the artist’s biggest fans and then the people who are less interested post the next few days

This is an excellent post! I just posted a track of mine on another forum and the first and only post in my thread was to say that my track is trash! I hear it alllll the time but I know it’s not trash! You’re right about a lot of them being paid to review music. Everytime I post my music here I get banned and thread privileges taken away! This is my 500th account. I play by the rules now and post in “Creative” while other posters can get stickies in the main forum! I’ve gotten over it! Lol
