Stranger Things kid is a Twitch streamer who pretends to be a commie to impress a girl. At one point he jerks off to her poem about decolonization.

His mom, Julianne Moore, is an actual social worker and she's miserable and wants to f*** someone's 20 year old son. It's a fantasy because her family is in disrepair and her job is weighing on her.

The movie chalks up all political grievance to personal grievance. Focus on yourself and your family. Forget all that changing the world nonsense. You're flawed. Retreat inward.

It's also just not very funny or enjoyable. Ugly to look at. Indie slurry. Todd Solondz with smaller nuts.

It’s his 2nd best film imo

When I first beau is afraid I loved it but when I saw it at home I didn’t it felt like beau was just running around out of breath and scared for the whole movie. Also I felt like 2024 was a bad year for Joaquin. Both beau and Napoleon didn’t live up to the hype from his performance.

I meannn yea he is running around scared the whole movie lol, I’m sure that’s what Aster was going for . The whole film is a long surreal panic attack

Also Joaquin got a Golden Globe nomination for Beau, so I wouldn’t consider it a failed year for him. His performance was great in it

I wasn’t a fan either. Love every movie (the shorts included) he’s done except for that one, so hopefully it was a rare miss from him for me
