I don't think they do. Just some groups get ignore by the media sometimes.

I've written about that in other posts about what groups have gotten their spotlights in the media. Mexicans during Trump, Asians during Covid, Muslims during Trump, BLM protests.

Also, it's a double edge sword with how the media uses these stories to make money.

The media is definitely biased about literally everything, and you don't get a variety of voices in mainstream publications, mostly just one. As a music fan it's been bothering me for years but I've learned I can do nothing but ignore it.

It's a rotating bias though. I doubt 20 years ago when I was like 4, you could get away with denouncing the Iraq war. Just look at the Dixie chicks. You could get away with plenty of gay jokes too.
