I'm saying they're completely satisfied with the corruption under the current Trump administration because of what FOX and social media feed them, and when the 2020 election went Biden's way, they went ballistic. Their sole intention was to overthrow a government because they found the vote unfair; the incumbent party were the Republicans; not that they "found a common enemy" because Trump was president from 2016 to 2020.

This is just borrowed sentimentalism from libs. I'm pointing at the moon and you're worried about the shape of my fingernail. The working class has the power to stop the flow of the entire economy once they realize Trump sold them out this entire time (an inevitability). I'm not highlighting them or emboldening them to take stances that don't strengthen those that are fundamentally marxist, and ultimately in their true favor.

Contradictions will heighten and conditions will get worse before they get better. Where should communists put their focus if not the working class, in whatever form that may take?

I preach about meeting the working class where they're at, and aligning with them on the sole basis of advancing their material conditions through marxist-leninist thought

No. You're pointing at the moon while ignoring the landscape that leads there.

You get three things wrong here:
    1. You're ignoring your communist peers here who I assume don't take a strict Marxist-Leninist stance.

    2. You are purposefully misrepresenting the working class. You argue that once they realise Trump has sold them out, they will be able to stop the economy. Assuming a monolithic working-class consciousness that aligns with Marxist ideals is unfounded, especially given how anti-staunch these same Americans were raised to think of Marxism, even if they may mimic it in some ways. They support Trump under the guises of nationalism, anti-immigration, economic protectionism, and liberalism. You cannot build a nation like that.

    3. YOU appeal to sentimentality while "rejecting" it. You dismiss concerns about corruption and election disputes as "borrowed sentimentalism" and then rely on an emotional appeal to the working class being betrayed. So, if appealing to emotion and "injustice" is inappropriate when criticising Trump supporters, why is it acceptable for them to discuss class struggle?

i think his main issue is what the “working class” is

Hasan Piker caught flack for it last week when he said that if LeBron had only made money through playing basketball, him being a billionaire would be okay because he earned it through a wage. Hasan also talked about how certain jobs can make less money, but the way the money is made removes them from the working class.

this applies to @fiveprestos calling the J6ers (many being policemen, feds, and landlords) “working class”, because we do not owe them any solidarity

Genuine question: from a socialist perspective, and disregarding what LeBron has done personally (from a support/materialist/investor standpoint a la Nike investment, staunch Liberal views), suppose he became a billionaire through more ethical means, taking advantage of the disproportionate wages an NBA player receives, gets 4-5 5 year max contracts leading to him having a net-worth over $1bil. Isn't that okay on a personal level? And realistically, LeBron has made the NBA far more money than the $1bil he has, if anything he isn't seeing enough of what they earn.

Yeah you simply have no idea what you’re talking about and your questions fundamentally misunderstand my points, because you have never read Marx. You’re using lib talk in a conversation where it doesn’t apply. Do you want a reading list? I will give you one.

Hmm, thinking about it more now, I believe from a Marxist lens the average player is still taking advantage of other people's labour, and how expensive each game is. Though, I don't really have a foot in this race

no its not ok because this fundamentally misunderstands where those billions came from. nobody can personally generate $2 billion in value, this is more like a dividend and the NBA is structurally similar to a cartel. that wealth was generated by the thousands of other people the NBA employs and the vast network of subcontractor labor (not to mention the outsourced grunt work).

e: it seems you grasp the idea in your last comment
