@Danny This team is so f***in annoying 🙄🙄🙄 how the f*** do we lose 3 consecutive matches to mid table bums like Crystal Palace, Brighton & Southampton, yet we comfortably beat Chelsea 4-2 at their home ground?

If we won one of those 3 matches, we would’ve been at a good position to finish Top 4. Now we’re level with Spurs, but they’re 4th because of goal difference.... and we still have to face Man United, West Ham, and Spurs in the derby.

    Just frustrating, really.

I was ready to completely check out tonight, expecting a loss. It's frustrating because we should be in the driver's position as you say but questionable managerial decisions and a lack of quality depth has really cost us these last few games.

Moving forward, I definitely think Nketiah and Elneny should maintain their spot. At least for Saturday. Maybe give Lokonga a few more runs against teams we expect to sit deep but overall he's still too raw and naïve. Not gonna waste too many words on Lacazette, unfortunately he's just completely past it.

Top 4 finish and a quality summer window can put this team back on the map. And on the other hand you have finishing in the Europa spots, failing to attract the high quality players you want and possibly have another lukewarm season ahead, with the young stars maybe running out of patience and looking for greener pastures. Either way, this summer will be crucial and the recruitment is going to have to be top notch to clean up the mess that has been made over the past few years.

I agree with everything you said tbh. One thing that’s clear tho after those 3 consecutive losses is that, regardless if we finish this season in 4th and qualify for Champions League, Arteta has to go. Had we lost today, the race for top 4 definitely would’ve been over. This win against Chelsea gave us a much needed lifeline.

We cannot let a manager who losses to 3 mid table sides at the most crucial part of the season be in charge next season. Nketiah & Elneny did good today against 3rd place Chelsea. If Arteta wasn’t so stubborn and played Nketiah/Elneny instead of Lacazette/Lokongs in those 3 matches, we most likely could’ve sealed Top 4 by now.

That’s the difference between managers like Klopp/Pep and managers like Arteta. Klopp/Pep know how to deal with an injury crisis and have no problem switching their formation or starting 11. Arteta is still learning his trade after being at a major club like Arsenal for 2.5 years. That’s a huge worrying sign.

I'm pretty neutral on that. You'd want him to do better 2.5 years in, but players like Tavares/Cedric/Laca/Nketiah/Elneny/Lokonga would struggle to be starters in any PL team.

Arteta's lack of healthy rotation, insistence to rely on players not up to the task (that Willian saga was disastrous) & questionable comments (crosses = pure maths, or his press conferences after the most recent losses) have had me scratching my head a lot. He has also struggled to coach a confident attack but again: Laca/Nketiah.

Nketiah should've come in way earlier than he did, but I don't think giving Lokonga a shot was unreasonable. The Xhaka - Elneny pivot has never really looked inspirational.

Gutting the squad for depth and choosing not to bring in potential deadwood is admirable for building a healthy foundation, but just makes this summer all the more crucial. If they decide to bring in deadwood regardless because they can't get any deals over the line, my patience will definitely have run out.

Should someone better be available, then I would love to see that person come in.

We move. If we beat Leeds and Liverpool beat Tottenham, CL could be secured at the North London Derby. I am starting to dream again. It has been 3 years since I have, but here we are. However, it is important not to get carried away. Hope the team realizes that too. Game per game basis. Thank you.
