I wonder how many sales of future and metros s*** was carried by kendrick and carti verses alone
only helped him get more streams and sales for one project lol, he is still the first and only artist in history to have 3 #1 albums in the same year
tbh I did and I still love her
but before solar power dropped I really thought she had a legit shot at being the defining artist of the 2020s, not even exaggerating
in hindsight, I think the expectations after melodrama and pure heroine were just completely unrealistic, like solar power wasn't even bad, it just was nowhere near that level, I really enjoyed virgin tho, man of the year
but career wise the damage is done I guess
Wow this is a great write up, I agree with this forsure! I think Virgin is her best album, but I def think she could’ve been that “defining star…” if she had kept that momentum. Solar Power was def not at the level of her first two albums
I will say tho when I saw her on Virgin tour, there was a s*** ton of younger ppl there, I had no idea Lorde had that sort of a hold on the new gen, but it def felt like it.. or maybe I’m just getting old asf
Really surprised this actors career didn’t take off

Kodak tbh
Chance the Rapper. Dude was on top of the world at one point. He was a corporate and mainstream sweetheart and had co-signs from literally everyone. Ever since The Big Day he just hasn’t had that sauce like he used to.

This is a good one. Hes so skilled as a producer the stuff hes making now is honestly baffling. And idk what happened

I haven’t checked out his stuff in years. What’s he even up to these days?
Kendrick
I have to ask, do you feel like his ‘20s output didn’t click with you as much as his ‘10s output? I am curious if someone else feels this way
like it’s still really good music, but doesn’t hit like his ‘10s albums
I haven’t checked out his stuff in years. What’s he even up to these days?
Astounding fall off since mac died ngl
he just stopped doing everything he was known for and started making the average good beat. Not much of the signature flylo meticulousness, groove, abstractions etc
I haven’t checked out his stuff in years. What’s he even up to these days?
Making mid films and mid osts for them. Love the guy but I gotta call it like it is. He just released an EP of 4-bit electronic (with a little jazz and funk) that was pretty alright though.
Not an artist but I thought GNX would’ve lasted way longer, shi came and went even I stopped bumpin it for a while
I bumped it crazy first week then barely again . Love Luther though and bodies

A good answer if you’re looking at his discography, but he started making Hollywood money and never looked back. Was the new EP any good?
Devin The Dude
Fauni
Meek Mill (DWMTM >>>)
Uzi
Thug
Cochise (debatable)
Andre Nickatina
Kankan
Chief Keef
Kanye fully had to lose his mind in order to fall off
I could see Ye falling off cause he was always supremely cool but u knew he couldn’t stay cool forever. At least not cool enough for all the s***talk he was doing all on the Vultures stuff lol
He was supposed to drop all that nasty s*** and keep it about being the flyest most influential nigga in the world
You can’t be a fat stinking slob rapping about buying p****. Who is that for if it’s not for the lowest life forms on the planet
Hoodrat and Back to Me aside
But it was the AI s*** that was the nail in the coffin for sure
I don’t like the concept of listening to an artists music and not even being sure if it’s actually them or some dweeb tech bro who is good at impersonating them
