Sza in her 30s, she in the cole, kendrick, drake generation
Not really considering she got one albim out
Do you consider Wayne in that generation as well?

Wayne is almost 40 and debuted in 1999 tho. He's not the same. Sza debuted her tape through a label in 2014 and is 30.
If sza new gen just cause her album dropped in 2017 then that means all of griselda who are almost in their 40s and been dropping tapes for years are new gen too

Their styles were completely different, Conway and Benny both sound different from their output in the 2000s (not just cause conway got shot). they didn't even start going by the Griselda moniker until 2012.

It dont matter their debut albums all dropped 2016 onwards and I doubt anyone would called them new gen
And age has a lot to do w it

Then they definitely not cole, kendrick, and drake generation lmfao. They would be called new artists though.
Tyler ofc
Heās going to lead the left field unique scene throughout his 30s and the 2020s

Ehh I wouldnt consider them that since they been dropping for years, they're just late bloomers. Same reason i wouldnt say jay elect a new artist

Feel like heās so outside of the music zeitgeist now like thereās so many cool scenes and waves going on and idk how he fits into anything heās just so quiet the past like 5 years
Wdym lead? Like who is taking cues from him at this point

i've been obsessed w latin trap lately, it's like finding out a whole new scene of people doing their own thing that genuinely love rap
some of them are trash ngl but some of these guys are genuinely good artists

For griselda some of them go back to 2005
For jay elect his "album" was in 2000

I would agree, your career starts when you blow up imo, thereās a huge difference between dropping a street tape in 04 and dropping an album that could go #1.

I wouldnāt say jay elec is a new artist either cause act 1 was 2009 and thatās when the buzz really started clicking

how is he quiet the past 5 years
after flower boy he got more widespread attention and critical acclaim than ever before then with igor he ended up winning the grammy
brockhampton alt hip-hop guys definitely take cues but maybe he wont lead a huge amount of artists
he definitely keeps me confident that music will remain interesting over the next decade though
