How is Die Lit a reinvention from S/T? It's a small artistic progression. He reinvented himself past DL but still
I wonder what a Kanye, Prince, and Carti collaboration would sound like

Kanye and Prince are both too dominant, it wouldn't have come to fruition
It was the start of the evolution but one released song on a whole 18 track album (and a few leaks) arn't enough to say he completely reinvented himself

I hear you. S/T to DL was definitely the closest. Even though it was just 1 song Flatbed was the most impactful one though. DL showed Carti was willing to experiment with new sounds so for me it was still a next step in the evolution. It ushered him into that WLR v1 era leaks where he went crazy with the baby voice. I think its fair to connect that to DL as an album

Ye would be too indecisive and have 5 different versions and Prince wouldn't let him release it unless it sounded the way he wanted it to sound. agree with you wouldn't work.

You dead wrong

S/T to DL is a much smaller sonic progression than DL to WLR, and reinventing is a pretty big term to use cause that implies the sound is much different. Carti reinvented himself multiple times prior to even releasing projects but this is about album to album.

To say he was reinventing himself when Die Lit came out is correct, but to say Die Lit was some sort of "reinventing effort" from S/T is dishonest. Its weird, cause where he was sonically at that period of time didn't match what was on the album (but somewhat to be expected all the songs were old by the time of release).

Yea i hear you. Still i think its fair to tie in the Carti 2018-2020 leaks with DL since there was no album during that time. And those leaks were absolutely a reinvention from his S/T sound.
