IMO his rebrand to more lyrical focus tracks kinda killed his momentum. He went from the fast flow reference king of SC with people like Juice and X in his corner to feature with to this weird amalgamation of a SC artist and lyrical rapper whose looks and old work turns off the “real hip hop” heads and the move away from the more fun bombastic or edgy songs he was making early made his core fans from the SC era lose interest. Still think he’s dope but I think his progression and why people tuned out at least tracks

He wasn’t doing anything the other big SC artists weren’t doing better. He got lost in the mix because the style got so saturated and he didn’t elevate it or have a unique twist that people just forgot he existed after his couple hits
