Eh. You're probably right that it was a factor. But Keef was also pretty reckless and slightly disrespectful to the industry on his initial come-up. May have given him some trouble down the line.
Remember when he stood up 50 and Wiz and they had a the whole crew and equipment set up in the desert for the music video. It was hilarious but I doubt it earned him any favors

Idk, people already didn't like his immediate tapes prior to jail and prior to producing his own stuff. They were really sloppily produced. His popping singles are tight by comparison.
