i'm not surprised by mj but i thought he would like prince
I liked it a lot and there are certain tracks I keep coming back to, it still gives me that huge emotional rush that the best Avalanches stuff does, but their other albums just do something magical that this one didn't quite manage
Like Interstellar Love felt like a real missed opportunity, the main loop is euphoric, real reason-to-live type stuff but the singing in the latter half feels kinda generic, there are a few moments like that across the album
The title track, Running Red Lights, The Divine Chord, Reflecting Light, We Go On, Oh The Sunn!, and the buildup in Wherever You Go are GOATed tho, by anyone else's standards it'd be an insane album but knowing they can do better it doesn't quite hit the same

Portishead is also close with Third being a 9 (dummy is a 10 ofc). Only heard Horses from PAtti and its a 10. Zeppelin is cool just think their albums have filler.
purple rain and 99 are definitive 10/10s no debate
off the wall thriller are definitive 10/10s
everything else itt is subjective (kanye closest one that comes to objective 10/10 throughout his career. i think he has 2)

I do like prince, just not super into him like most people. Dirty Mind and Purple Rain are my favorite from him and they like 8 or 9s imo
