i became a hov stan once i started getting money and hoes
Im serious btw. In my personal life I didnt understand hov until i grew up a lil.
U right tho, Hov hits differently once u get ur paper right
I got a gf tho so no hoes for me
i think it was a little odd future i got caught in that early hype like 2011-12, thought id be listening for years to come, ive hardly listened since with the exception of some rap songs
Post Malone, hated white iverson when it came out and got over played for like 3 years, but then I gave his debut a shot and realized he himself is just a whole vibe, maybe a somewhat one dimensional vibe but still a vibe. And he has songs like Leave and Stay that break the mold a bit but are still 🔥

same bro i was heavy on the OF wave 2011-2013. earl the only i still listen to. some rap songs one of my favorite albums of all time
I remember hating on Kanye a lot(without listening to any of his music apart from maybe stronger). Then Yeezus comes out. There is a song “I’m a god”. I think to myself something along the lines of who tf he thinks he is. Then I decide to listen out of curiosity. One of my favourite artists ever since
When PND1 dropped, I remember half the thread on KTT was just talking s*** about him being a ripoff of The Weeknd and that he was only signed to Drake bc Abel didn’t sign
Krispy Kreme. He never ran from Jay Z and he stood on it, he could bag Beyonce given the opportunity.
Honestly, Lady Gaga.
Thought she was a gimmick with catchy tunes and bizarre costumes when she blew up but her post Artpop music impressed me.
Uzi, Juice, etc.
A lot of the SoundCloud rap scene of 2016-2018 was post-high school for me, and I thought the emo aesthetic was corny/juvenile.
Gave Juice a chance around 2020 and realized how talented he is. Same for Uzi when EA dropped. Definitely my favorite new school rapper.

That sigilcore s*** on first listen just be assaulting your ear drums but a lot of the tracks be hard as f***
Thought Solange was just a budget Beyonce, so I never bothered to listen. Hate myself for not giving her a chance sooner
Thought Big Sean was fire when I was in the 9th grade. Then I moved on to J Cole. My bro was telling me about GKMC and I refused to listen because I thought there was no way somebody could rap better than J Cole
Skimmed through Magdalene once while making a playlist for a shroom trip. That made me assume she mainly makes boring slow songs with opera vocals
Thought the Weeknd was a band when I first listened to HoB
Yeat
Thought every song sounded the same. It might, but there's plenty of intricacies within his performance and the mixing of that performance that are distinct as well as the vocabulary and the beats themselves.
J Cole
When he was first coming up it took me a while to like him. Had to go over those first tapes a few times. FNL had me in its grips. Then he dropped his debut and I've been off that wagon ever since.
Kanye
thought he was great when i first got into his music, but then i realized he has no good albums outside of 808s, Dark Fantasy, and Yeezus
