Black Panthers may have started off with Marxism-Leninism, but as time went on, many Black radicals and revolutionaries came to heavily critique it because it often failed to address racial oppression and inequality.
CLR James, Kwame Ture, Amiri Baraka frequently critiqued Marxist-Leninism. WEB DuBois was one of the first to critique it. While it served as a decent stepping stone, when it came to the plight of Blacks, Africans, and Afro-Caribbeans there were many holes within the ideology.
Marxism-Leninism tends to ignore the conflict of race and focuses on class. While that isn't necessarily "bad", it ignores the very clear disadvantages that Blacks face. Essentially, being for the abolition of slavery. Cool. But being against reparations. Bad.
And this is just one, of many, things that non-Black Marxist-Leninists still struggle with today. Which is why to me they continued to get side-eyed whenever they try to speak over Black political thinkers and revolutionaries. They just don't get it, and instead of having that real conversation, they tend to get mad and start showing some interesting true colors
valentine is still extremely tilted that everyone called him ed for not believing in maps it's been going on for weeks. pray for this man it's christmas
how is it possible to not believe in maps? WTF LMAO

critiquing marxism-leninism is not an unacceptance of it
Dubois became a socialist specifically because he visited lenin's USSR and stated that marx's scientific a***yses of society were foundational
dubois also felt that the axis powers and zionist cause were anti-imperialist so i'm not going to give his a***yses on foreign geopolitical relations the most amount of weight

there has to be a harsher word than ed we could use
MLism ignoring race is also a generally incorrect concept. national sovereignty for individual people (especially along racial lines) was a foundational concept especially within the soviet union, which recognized 176 distinct nationalities and divided them into independent national republics and autonomous entities that all held a degree of independence in the political assembly of the union
no likes on this really
if i got it i woulda liked it

Part of it has to due with their little interactions with black people but also
America is a really unique and f***ed up mixed situation that needs things edited to tailor to its own cacophony of a mess and it's complications
That's why a lot of things get used as references or jumping off points then get built into its own unique sector when talking about things like sociology n anthropology in USA, plus still a relatively young country that just accelerated so fast and continues to do so
