I’m glad you said this, I don’t like his beats in the 2020’s
Ya and I thought he was getting back with Chad? I think that was right before pandemic but idk Guess not
He been using the same two 808s for like 4 years
I don’t even care about reusing sounds. He used the same drums for almost his entire run in the 2000s. The difference is the beats back then were so good you didn’t even notice that s***
Rocky just be doing anything these days
he didn’t even wait until Friday to drop
he knows this wasn’t bouta do s***
One of my favorite rappers of the 2010s and one of my favorite producers oat both really done

This fair. He came correct on Pusha last album tho
Maybe it’s just an effort thing when he in that pocket
Rocky also picked this stinky ass beat too he ain’t free from this

I feel the same way about the beats on Its Almost Dry
I’m just not seeing how people acknowledge P falling off but then saying he did his thing on the Pusha album
The beats on the Pusha album sound just like all these other modern beats he’s been doing imo

Even some of Pharrell's good beats feel like they're lacking something.
Wasting Time and Hit Different are good instrumentals (I'm confident Chad saved them) but they're still just missing that extra oomph to take them to the next level. Even something like Neon Guts, which I love, starts to feel extremely repetitive after awhile.
Cherry Pie and Bailan are decent and I enjoy the tracks and beat, but they really be sounding the exact same. It's as if Pharrell just creates the vibe of the beat, but doesn't bother to make them stand out like he used to. It's almost as if he just pulls from a template he's made for himself over the years and that's it.
It's Almost Dry is the same feeling. His beats on there are good but it's just...not hitting the way they really could. It's disappointing even if it does technically work. The beats just don't have that "Wow" factor anymore.
Think it would be better received if the horns werent so generic, and imo P makes his 808s a bit too overbearing, there was some cool production choices like having static play for the snare at some parts.

Chad Hugo is the real genius.
song so bad i won’t be surprised if rihanna dump him in 16 months
why 16 months lol
Y’all talking about production like it isn’t the best thing on the song lol this nigga Rocky is 10 + years in the game and has been making the same song for the past 8 years now. He should have had the same growth that Tyler has by now but dude has been stagnated for a long time.
im afraid this aint it
all that testing defending i did
TESTING still a masterpiece. Pharrell's half assed production on this track can never change that.
hate when you post this gufkcing gif
This is the first time ive posted it
