I'm going with self-criticism because that's literally his whole brand. S***, that was Jay-Z's brand in the era that he's talking about. I really think that this is Rocky speaking on today's scene as something of a rap statesmen at this point in his career. He's grown essentially and he was apart of a more youthful generation that used the internet to their advantage. He sees that things have continued to be that way pretty much with very young artists bubbling up more than ever.
Like I really don't think he's knocking the genre or any artist, which is why I'm confused by the replies itt lowkey lmao it comes off more as a simple observation of how things have been since Soulja Boy.
