All About Lily Chou Chou (2001)
Shunji Iwai
She was born on December 8th, 1980, at 10:50 PM. The exact time Mark David Chapman killed John Lennon. For me, though, that’s just a coincidence. All I care about is that she was born at that exact moment. Her name: Lily Chou-Chou. Genius. Or rather, genesis. The Ether personified.

How was Drive My Car?
How was Drive My Car?
It’s a cool film. Very minimal and melancholy too but the emotion isn’t surface level, it’s really reserved and mundane. If you like slow films and you’re patient, the 3hrs passes by.
Burning is my favourite Murakami story adaptation so far, but this holds its own. Gotta rewatch Drive My Car and finish Wheel Of Fortune And Fantasy as well (same director 🚗).
Btw the screener is a screen recording and in scenes that have loud background noise, you can hear mic feedback from the computer. It’s not too overbearing and the rest of the audio is fine.
