Nope this been done. Now it's just self contained stories with allusion to the older overarching story. Every game story after Assassin's Creed IV has either contradicted the older lore or just been a convulted mess. Origins is probably the only one with a good story post ACIV.

I liked the new trilogy

spoilers for old games obviously but Valhalla ended in a way that setup the next games to be crazy, like how the god Loki escaped into the modern day (or late 2020s or whatever) makes me hype for whatever is next

Haven’t played Valhalla but it’s the gameplay that’s tired. Needs a complete overhaul like how rockstar did from 3d to 4/5 era.

I never beat the game but they took a more realistic route with pirates didn’t they? Like there was no fantasy stuff like witches, mermaids, sea monsters

Ubisoft was actually making a pirates game called Skull & Bones had gameplay footage and everything but been stuck in development for years I’m pretty sure it’s cancelled

In hindsight, AC1 was kinda bs. Mfs literally chose the most controversial & evil moment in Christian inquisition-crusader history and somehow made the Muslims look like the big bads (Al-Mualim, Altair being a non-believer, calling the game setting area “The Levant” instead of Palestine, even though maps from that time period all said that, etc).

Somebody comes to your country trying to take over, no s*** you’re going to fight back. But they made it sound like:

It's not cancelled. They still have the page up on their website and I remember reading that it got moved to 2022-23 in a earnings call

Usually if a Ubisoft game is quietly cancelled they remove the webpage and move it to a certain part of the website with cancelled projects
