It's still in early development, so details are a little slim at the moment, but the companies call it "the biggest video game in franchise history." It will be made for both PC and consoles and tell a new story in the universe that's being developed in "close collaboration" with Avatar Studios, the announcement notes.
It'll put players in the role of an "all-new, never-before-seen Avatar" and take place thousands of years in the past. According to Paramount and Saber, players "can expect to be immersed in a vibrant world, master all four elements, engage in dynamic combat alongside companions, and experience the challenges and decisions that come with being the keeper of balance in the world." It adds that, story-wise, it'll feature elements both new and familiar to fans of the franchise.
There’s so many creative ways that bending could be translated into game mechanics like combat, platforming, and puzzle-solving.
I hope this game actually taps in to the core fantasy of being the Avatar rather than wasting the potential of the IP by using it as set dressing for another boring AAA open world slog.

Playin' Golden Sun rn and the way the team uses the elements to solve puzzle immediately made me think about Avatar, maybe sumthing similar? It would be so dope.
Saber Interactive and Paramount? Oh man this game is about to f***in ASS.

They didn’t do all these. Maybe assisted a few studios but their actual catalog is on their site. It’s not perfect, but they got some great s*** in there. I wouldn’t write them off just yet

Facts, Nickelodeon really struck gold with this show. Such a great world and story
Idk how they're going to do combat though. I want free flowing combat that's faithful to the show. Like floating into the air and throwing rocks, using ice to shield attacks, shooting fire and lighting, plus melee. Don't know how they're even going to fit all this on a controller Always wanted an RPG where you choose to be a bender from one of the tribes, being the avatar might be too complex to get right
