From a production standpoint Atlanta genuinely saved hip hop. The oversaturation of mid rappers predates Atlanta's uprising lmao, began in the late 90s and boomed in the late 2000s onward, mostly outside of Atlanta too.
There has 100% been a wave of more mid to trash rappers in the last say 16 years with the rise of the A taking over and the internet/SoundCloud boom compared to the era you are talking about lol and it’s not even really an Atlanta thing it’s the fact becoming a rapper and blowing up became so accessible
