Lying his ass off
I'm curious about the generational divide when it comes to visiting theatres
https://twitter.com/CarterNixon/status/1997749438677430460"According to a Yahoo News/YouGov Survey conducted May 22-27, 2025, Americans surveyed say they prefer to wait to see a new movie when it’s available on streaming (61%) rather than seeing it in theaters (23%). But young adults under 30 are the age group most likely to head to the cinema, according to the poll... 54% of Gen Z-ers surveyed said they want “an experience I can’t get at home.”

Older folks are more likely to have nicer in home theatres compared to younger people who are mostly renters/living with roommates void of fancy in home setups. This is one factor but doesn't explain the whole picture. Could it be that boomers are more likely to watch random slop films on streaming that don't necessitate an in-theatre experience, busier with other hobbies, and may also be more fearful of random crowds of strangers? What other reasons come to mind? Anecdotally there's an indie theatre downtown where I live that's always packed with retirees, I love to see it even though they can be annoying sometimes
Nobody is worried about the longevity of franchises and IP. That's the only s*** young people see besides the odd horror movie.
This is sick. Pick between s*** vs piss

This is facts lmao it’s the movies catering to adults that struggle. And it’s the boomers who swear going to theaters is played out and there’s no point unless it’s a big explosions brain dead action movie (I hear this all the time from my older siblings lol)

Sweating and backtracking all of a sudden

The concern obviously lies with one of the worst Zionazi MAGA families in the world controlling this much media (including TikTok). F*** that.

ngl why on earth would dude say all that s*** if the deal didn't even officially go close yet lmao
paramount is also terrible but it would be hilarious to see netflix look stupid if they lose out

We'll be watching direct-to-streaming slop now in theaters

“Controlling that much media” and the media is MTV, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network.
I hate to break it to you about who already owns and controls all the existing media and social media. It’s Zionazi MAGAs all the way down

I don't think Ted said anything unstable or significant outside of an interview and the letter they sent out.
Pages like DiscussingFilm collected other quotes of his over the years and dropped it all at once after the deal was made so they could get clicks and get people talking.
I saw people like Grace Randolph mentioning his comments about Barbieheimer on her recent vid as if he just said that, but that comment was nearly 2 years ago. Still bad comments, but a CEO isn't gonna yap like that during an active deal

Gagging on it
Gagging on it
Not sure what you mean
Really hope you're not implying i'm for this deal. I'm just not an immediate pessimist, prefer to find balance in the reporting and engage in solid discussion
I am not for the Netflix deal or WB being sold. I don't enjoy any of this lol.
