Of course she is, she makes bank off sponsors.
Thats not the point tho, with streaming, actors arent getting paid like that anymore.
Residuals are pretty much nonexistent.She starred in the biggest show on hbo and got paid a one time flat fee.
She is an extreme case but getting a job as an actor is so hard especially nowadays, so any opportunity counts.
Back in the day actors got paid for years because of reruns, and now you can be working at Lids after a super big show because you were paid peanuts

especially for episodic shows like Friends or Fresh Prince or like 90% of cartoons i don’t wanna dig through specific episodes most of the time
imagine being able to like make your own playlist on netflix

yea it’s cool Disney has every single episode except one up but how am i even supposed to watch? watching it order doesn’t sound that fun and there’s an infinite number to pick from, sometimes i might have one in mind but pretty much everyone grew up just watching random episodes just pick for me pls
these apps would get 90% better for me if they had that option

a key thing to remember is that television and film are very different mediums. television is hyper commercial, advertising and business focused...its never really been about the art. the "golden age of tv" is a historical anomaly despite the great shows that have come out in the last 20 years.
meanwhile movies are much more of a legit artform...the people that create movies obviously want to make money, but they do it for the art much more, it doesn't have the same commercial obligations as television.
this guy zaslav is a tv executive and will never understand that in the same way that like...even amy pascal does. its a real shame how the film industry is operating more and more like television, traditionally a cynical and creatively bankrupt industry. its killing the magic of the movies man
To be fair this change is mostly for hbomax not warner movies
