How is that the same upbringing as Eren? Eren grew up in a loving house

Eren was obsessed with killing all the titans even before the wall fell, you see it in the first episode he's over enthusiastic about the scouts which at the time was nothing but a an exercise in killing some soldiers. The only difference between their upbringing was that Gabi was actively being told to go and join the army and had the means of joining the army, Eren himself seemed more than willing to join without the push.

They have very similar personalities for the most part, both are striving for freedom from the reality they grew up in, that freedom just means two different things in the context of their upbringing. Armin more or less plays the role of the blonde b**** spurring Eren on, for Gabi that B**** is Ms. Braun
