one piece doesn't have the level of thought put into it as aot, from a purely storytelling perspective, this is as close to a flawless masterclass in WRITING, before you factor in how good of an anime series it is, the multilayered aspects of it and the way it has progressed is something to be studied. not even tryna sound on some nerd s***, i've seen so many series and nothing has this much depth in SO MANY characters at once, which makes them all expendable, the world building is in a league of its own. one piece is not even in the top 10 of series of all time, imo, so much better s*** exists. s*** like Monster, this is the league aot is in, OP is a generic shonen at its core

I'm not even saying OP is bad, OP is a legendary series for the genre it incorporates, id never argue against that bro, i just truly believe aot has transcended simply being an anime series. in the end, this will be discussed with the likes of s*** like Fargo, BB and GOT, OP will just be looked at as an insanely successful manga series

Hell nah nigga it’s a million episodes and nothing I’ve seen come close to this. I’m not saying it’s trash. It’s just not this. For me, overall, some of the only things even coming close to this is maybe Watanabe’s stuff but I can’t really compare the 2 because both Champloo and Bebop are stand alone projects and more like long form films. In terms of series though it’s literally not close at all too me. I’m happy to watch anything anyone feels is better that I haven’t already seen though
