yea, i think the animation carries it, for the most part. the manga is like a 7 or so imo, but it just takes a nosedive at a certain point lol.

that's just my opinion on it. definitely not saying the entirety of the anime is bad by any means because ufotable makes it look REALLY good and the story isn't really bad by any means. but yeah, i think a lot of its success has to do with how it's animated.

the ending pretty much ruined it for me. i thought demon slayer was good enough to read the manga after i watched most of the anime, but the final fight and overall ending was pretty awful.
not really actual spoilers in there, but figure it's worth tagging.

i'm sure someone thinks it's one of the best shonens ever, and that's great for them. personally, i thought the story was just "pretty good" for the most part. the animation just looks stupid good and it's very nice to look at. then again, i don't think shonens have a really high bar to meet in the first place to be good (barring one piece, which i need to catch up on ).

This is the first time I’ve heard this opinion about the manga, but I personally feel like most of the love from the anime is like this. Like people I heard “OH DS IS GOAT” usually are newer followers of anime

Nah you’re definitely on to something lol. I can’t speak on to it yet, they should touch on it at some part though (I’m only on ep 2 but I’ve followed the manga for a min)

Even the most ardent AOT fans should be able to see there’s a couple similarities between the last 10 chapters and S7-S8 tbh

think it's just mainly with the ending for me. the story was pretty decent other than that, though wouldn't say it was anything special. but yeah, if ppl love it and think it's the best thing ever, all the power to em.

Episode 19 singlehandedly exploded the show

I don’t think niggas gonna like it, but it’s almost mandatory next chapter is gonna be exposition and dialogue happy

This last chapter has definitely revealed to me how yuge the percentage of action loving, one side is the hero and the other is bad type fans are. Niggas in their critique of him taking the supposedly TNJ route essentially wanted that type of ending, it’s just they didn’t get it how they wanted

I’ve been dealing with so many thoughts that overwhelm me because of AOT’s story, especially caught up to the manga. It’s unreal.

It makes you think, in a painful way. A way that’s not nurturing or guiding, but forced & confrontational.

I wish it was just a little lol, s*** set it back like crazy. Never recovered tbh
