wesi don't hate armin, but he really did jack s*** in s4. guess you could say that him not coming up with a plan to save paradis helped make eren the way he is, but even in the manga, really didn't do much up until 137/138 (idk about 139, haven't read the leaks). then again, chapters 90 onwards were more focused on other characters, so i guess there wouldn't be a ton of room for him to do anything, but still.

yeah, exactly. which is great for those characters, but kinda sucks seeing the "genius" character doing nothing. *especially* since he was saved over erwin.

I think that's the point. Eren has always pulled the strings and allowed everyone to have their role. He let these people think they have their own will and freedom, when he's doing everything himself to be free. I think Eren chose Armin for that purpose of cucking everyone over. Erwin wouldn't have let that s\*\*\* happen.

He was saved due to the emotions of the MC, not because he was a “genius”.

Solid point - but Erwin would’ve initially supported Eren, or at least found another way to try and resolve it (not as softly as Armin though).
Erwin himself said (when asked about if the ppl outside the walls are hostile towards Paradis): “We’ll destroy them if need be”.

as for your other post about AOT being longer, I was actually expecting THAT as of the chapter where they were fueling up and leaving. He cut some fat off with not showing much travel (as writers do at the end of series), but I feel like there's absolutely no way we get a satisfying conclusion with Eren's personal desires or Ymir with one chapter left lol

I still think when Isayama was on with this season/arc, its the best writing I've ever seen in the field
I think it was just self-evident the further we got that it was gonna be hard for him to stick the landing. But no tier 1 anime does a perfect job

wasn't fully expecting everything to get wrapped up neatly, but now that we're at the end, there's no way it's happening. just feel like almost too much fat was cut. really almost seems like he wanted to end it at 139, no matter what.
though i'm withholding judgment until i actually read it for myself. still got me worried as hell though lol.
