Apparently in his final talk with Armin he reveals that he regrets abandoning Mikasa and he wished he could live forever with her (like in the chapter 138 dream). Then the creepy part. He says that he wishes that Mikasa wont ever find love and another man again, so she can stil stick to a dead Eren till her death. Hes crying while saying this

If this is true, my theories on the “Tenet” ending were correct, where Eren basically influenced damn near EVERY thing since the story began, without ever knowing he did.

The last volume worth of chapters at least are ass cheeks. I don't see how anyone that will read the manga when its completed wont think the last arc isnt a massive drop off. Its not just what direction the story goes its how its presented as wel (e.g. meme tier fight choreography and dialogue, the alliance op page, armin standing around the old 9 titans). Honestly from the leaks its probably the best chapter in a while. Imo it was impossible to recover this arc but last chapter seems decent though I think the loser route if true is a bit of a joke and shoehorned in.

Overall I feel like many manga eventually end poorly. I think its probably a result of the format of manga, as in having a lot of control from the editor side of things and having set schedules related to sales. This ending is the worst one for me in a series I've followed though. Tokyo ghouls was much better imo and many people hated it.

what chapter do you think a fall off happened? I can only think of 137 "being bad" with the chapter being presented by itself

I'm gonna reread last arc before chapter releases and I will get back to this thread. I just dont think it holds any weight compared to the rest of the series. In a way I think it oversimplifies the series as well. The motivations of characters, the themes, etc. were imo way more complex and nuanced for most of the series.

Some of the developments are either rushed or bullshit to me in the final arc. If series really ends the way it does for Eren there should have been more exploration on his motivations rather than dropping it in the last chapter as shock value. The series was at the point where to me Eren carried most of the weight. This time paradox s\*\*\* is ass to me and a cop out. It raises more questions that we as readers cant possibly answer(unless the actual chapter is more detailed).

If the leaks are true then this might be one of the midst disappointing manga endings for me personally, after how high up I had the series.

in a world where paths and memory inheriting exists, how is that a cop out? The Founding Titan changed the bodies of all Eldians to save them from dying from a plague, Built 50 m walls made of millions of eldians all turned into colossal size titans and created those walls from their skin and more feats beyond that just by calling on Ymir but that’s where you draw the line?
