My bad if this seems mad dumb but a friend asked me about this and I realized I never thought about - why didn't Zeke's plan just have it so that Eldians couldn't transform into titans anymore?

I got some ideas on this but would love to hear more

Also I've read the manga through the end but it's been a while

@DonJulio I meant to say after ep 8, the difference in manga reaction to that last scene versus anime viewers is hilarious

With the manga we was clowning this fake ass avengers ensemble, and I STILL AM, don't get me wrong, but anime viewers actually seem to believe in this group

And anime Jean is much more ... Idk the exact word, but he's just better cuz I aint give a f*** about him as a character in the manga. Maybe it's the voice acting performance

Yeah they don't realize they're getting packed up effortlessly

I feel the same way about Gabi, couldn't stand that annoying dork in the manga

Imo i think it's cuz they'd be defenseless. marleyans wouldn't have found them useful anymore and kill them all. Zeke's coon ass wanted to give them "peaceful deaths"

It's cause seeing all the deaths and s*** made them want the c-listers to win.

In the manga, we were all rooting for Eren.

they definitely improved that scene for the anime - im not totally against all the cringevengers s*** myself, but that save the world panel looked so dorky in manga lol

Saw some leaks saying this season ends with chapter 130, and i remember people thinking it would've ended with 131. It also is skipping 123 which ive heard is important. If that doesnt give me more motivation to read the rest of the manga after season ends then i dont know what will

I remember you mentioning some special event that people thought was linked to a movie announcement - did anything come of that?

Also how many episodes are left and are they showing straight through the next few weeks or is there a break somewhere?

There are 4 episodes left, last one should've been on march 27th but instead there will be that special event ive talked about that will have a aot panel where we'll probably hear about the movie (or a highly unlikely final season part 3). Last episode would then slip to april 3rd

  • Mar 6, 2022

This was one of the best episodes of the series, amazing amazing amazing

  • Mar 6, 2022

Isayama said "let me take control of yelena for a moment to talk my s***" and went full narration on the wrongs all our characters did, but it didnt feel too unnatural as it was a 3rd party who has heard it all to lay it out.

The tension in this episode was felt, it was AWKWARD to say the least. Some had their issues with last episode uniting all the main characters despite their differencies without any friction, but f*** if this episode didnt satisfy those folks i dont know what will, amazing directing and execution, and it wasnt a flashback thank god.

Love all the characters around the campfire, too many goated interactions to count, all super in character and finally all our characters are coming to terms with their own wrongs, i especially LOVED magath's reaction after gabi taking a hit for reiner and most importantly bowing down to a previous enemy, which the hot headed prideful part 1 gabi would've never done.
Also loved jean's va performance and hange at the beginning of the episode, for these characters who've lost everything to care for the ghosts of the ones who sacrificed for the greater cause are the d*** these people are using to keep moving forward and put an end to this, despite running away from all responsibilites being a safer and easier choice.

Yelena's speech on "saving the world" and these acts of heroism/self sacrifice which these characters use as a sort of way to cope with their weaknesses, wrongdoings and hate fueled by their environment was so important and omnipresent in the series, a character pointing this out at this moment was perfect.

And also lastly i loved the theme of getting the children out of the forest with jean and gabi and falco.

This episode was again essential in laying out the themes of the story directly, no way to misinterpret them now

I'm really curious what the movie's release date will be. I hope they don't make people wait a year.

Not really "skipping" 123, but re-arranging it. There's a sequence of panels in ch. 130 that could serve as a parallel to the ones they've cut from ch. 123, so Isayama likely said to have them in the same episode.

Oh, the article i've read didnt mention 123 so i thought they left it for the movie, thanks for the correction!
