See, I was in the same mindset as you. I figured they would do the bonfire convo followed by the Liberia flashback and then end the season with The Rumbling teaching Marley. But they still haven’t shown the flashback and teased it yesterday so it’s gonna have to be the last episode we see it. And they don’t have any more material then that to use so that and the Rumbling reaching shore isn’t enough for a full episode. The other thing is that MAPPA kinda have the duty to show the Rumbling in full force before the season ends, just ending on Eren’s Founding Titan’s face isn’t a great cliffhanger. Also the Eren face reveal fits much better as the first few mins before the OP. You see Eren’s face through the fog, cut to black, RUMBLING RUMBLING IT’S COMING
