The committee opted to name it “the final season” and give these wild time frames. Them deciding to split it up is like the best thing mappa could have done giving the circumstances . I’m failing to see how mappa deserves any hate in this situation

mappa wasnt even the first choice studio for attack on titan, they were just the only studio that was willing to throw their employees under the bus and make them deal with asinine deadlines and production schedules. multiple studios refused to take on the project because the requested timeline was dumb as s***.

the notion that mappa cares about healthy productions is ridiculous. healthy production schedules dont result in 10+ animation directors per episode. KyoAni is widely touted as the studio that takes the best care of its employees and they average what, 3 animation directors per episode? healthy productions dont require a studio to throw bodies upon bodies into the grinder just to brute force finishing a project in time

mappas biggest accomplishment as a studio was cultivating a fanbase that will defend the studio's disregard for the people who actually make the anime
