Eren actions wasn’t based on race, it was based on freedom
Germans were not being push to the brink of extinction, Hitler did that s*** because he wanted to be a world power
They aren’t the same
Hitler more comparable to someone like Madara
Lol wrong, Eren's actions were mostly because of his selfish desires. Yall rlly doing mental gymnastics to excuse genocide, that's crazy

I don’t think anyone excusing genocide, literally every side at the end of the series was trying to commit it.

mm his intentions are revealed in the end

Where did I excused genocide? I literally said Eren was evil 🤨
This show took such a turn from when we all first saw it in 2013

Yeah one way or another Marley was GOING to descend on Paradis with all the force of the world
That’s not right either.
I’m guessing if Marley didn’t invade so early Eren would’ve gone through with the partial rumbling assuming he’d convince Zeke too switch
mm his intentions are revealed in the end
I read the entire manga fam. Eren has zero sympathy from me, but I can appreciate some elements of tragedy Isayama gave to his character.

Ok, fair enough. But you did say Eren wasn't born "evil".
Now, "evil" is imo too generic of a term - but Eren definitely was born with a desire for conflict.
If you go back and look at the first seasons, Eren was already acting in a deranged and extremely violent way. The audience didn't see it as something problematic bc 1. he is the "hero" of the story 2. his actions seemed justified by his trauma.
There's also the fact that Eren himself admits to Zeke (and to us, the audience) that it wasn't their father who made him that way - he has actually been that way since birth. Couldn't be clearer.
The real genius thing about the way Eren is written is that he ends up being a slave to his own desires.

True but he was also born into a world were he was trapped by walls
It’s all he knew, as he aged he started to really piss him off because he was one of the very few who didn’t want to accept that fate
The environment you grow in can definitely shape you for better or for worse

He wasn't born with a desire for conflict. He just wasn't born a p****.
All he really wanted to do was escape his cage and discover the outside world.
He was violent after seeing his home and mom crushed by titans. Of course he wants to kill them all. He killed people who were trying to kill him and Mikasa. Of course he did.
Just because you not about to lay down like a hoe it doesn't mean you were born with a desire for conflict. But sometimes when you stand up for yourself it's going to lead to conflict.

Bruh that's just a very superficial a***ysis, and it's an extremely basic level of writing compared to what Isayama actually did with Eren.
Eren is a complex character with many reasons for enacting the rumbling (tho nationalism Is 100% not one), he isnt just selfish, he isnt just a evil psychopath, he isnt just blinded by personal vendetta and he isnt just too caring of his friends. You could say its all of this, but you cant ignore any imo. I feel like many just cant accept some sides of eren's character because it makes their idea of him wrong or lesser. It shouldnt tho, eren is great because of his complexity, his contradictions, his humanity and even his wrongdoings. Yes eren is selfish he wanted to wipe all humanity away cause he liked It that way. Yes eren cares deeply about his friends and would give up the world literally for them. Yes eren still hasnt gotten over what happened to him and wants revenge on everbody. All of these aspects are part of him, some to a bigger degree, but they're there. And there's nothing wrong when its all presented so well. If you got a problem with the story a re-read (better than a rewatch since anime especially under wit just skips some important s*** for no reason) and everything will be more clear, and you'd understand why people say that eren genociding the world because of some chad nationalism and simple revenge isnt true or justified, not even in the logic of the first arcs
Hope that stop comparing Eren and LeLouche !
Lelouch and code geass in general become way less impressive the more you read/watch good stories
Go rewatch code geass after reading a bunch of classics and you'll notice more the inconsistencies, the plot conveniences, the relative lack of nuance in the topics it tackles, etc. Lelouch is good, but hes no eren lol
I highkey want to be a show runner just to make a live action AOT show.
Here’s your reminder that Warner Bros had the option to make it a HBO series and instead went with movies even though it’s impossible to format this show into a 2 hour movie.

He still would have done it because he wants Marleyans dead as much as they want Eldians dead.
Ol’ “it has to look like my nursery book overseas or else” looking ass.
Y’all Eren apologists get a grip, he’s literally acting like a school shooter
