SlutdogBro there is so much nonsensical s*** in the ending as well just straight up cringe dialogue and out of character moments. The hate is totally rational because this was a really well written series up until the rumbling arc
Ive yet to see 1 actual example of out of character moments or nonsensical s*** and ive discussed and read discussions on the ending for a year at least. Cringe dialogue is highly subjective so i'll give you that, even if you didnt mention it i'll also give you that the last 10/15 chapters were rushed and didnt bring enough closure to some characters, but everything else imo again is born out of false hopes and extreme theorycrafting mixed with unhealthy amounts of copium.

Why the f\*\*\* are the past titan holders fighting to save Marley? Especially Kruger. The alliance has some of the most insane plot armor I've seen in awhile as well. Literally unlimited ammo at some points. Also when did Eren ever care about Mikasa in that way? Yelling s\*\*\* like I don't wanna see her with another man?? Really?? All that last-minute fan service shipping garbage is weak. Also how Armin was vehemently against the rumbling than says "Thank you for committing genocide for our sake". Completely out of character. Don't even get me started with the time travel s\*\*\* where we learn Eren was responsible for the death of his mother. If that's the case, then why not change more things in the past??? Also Eren supposedly having foreseen his defeat and working towards an end point where it isn’t completed knowing it won’t be completed since the medal ceremony doesn’t make any sense with neither his stated intentions nor internal thoughts where he clearly gives the impression that he will complete the Rumbling. S\*\*\* makes no sense. This is just some off the top of my head

He's says thank you. You became a murderer for our sake. The original fan translation says thank you for turning into a murderer. He's thanking him for everything Eren did from the start of the show. He then says "look what you turned into. I'll make sure it's all for nothing.

It's not mental gymnastics. Im arguing what Armin says is not out of character. He's free, he's seen the sea, and his people have more access to the world. He's gonna thank Eren for that. He never thanks Eren for causing genocide. Why else would he stop Eren?

See, a LOT of people clearly missed the point of that scene. That moment was INTEGRAL to Eren's character, because it shows him for who he truly is - and always has been - a very troubled, selfish child who is a slave to his very conflict driven nature.
