It’s not supposed to be romance it just shows they both care for each other a lot, if you remember szn 1 when eren got shot in the face with a canon and the squad leader said “don’t worry we are gonna protect your boyfriend, cos we don’t know what you are gonna do” and Mikasa replied “He’s family”. I think Jean is the one with affections for Mikasa but now prolly just see her as nothing more than comrade/friend after spending all that time together
