Hey yall, I know there are a few of you on this site, looking for some advice and anecdotal help regarding academic articles.
A few critical articles I'm researching are stuck behind paywalls, with a price tag of like $40/article. Do you guys have a way to get around these or do you just say f*** it and pay for it?
Attending a community college atm so I don't get to reap the benefits of Institutional Access yet
Thanks :)

Always here for you
And it does citations for you depending on the journal. But you can use citation machine as well: citationmachine.net
People already gave some links but yea one tip i have is never ever pay for an academic article. Contact your library, look for bootleg sites, etc etc. But never pay

New media theory, political economy and cybernetics basically. My program is too transdisciplinary that it’s hard to pin down
You’re doing your bachelor’s? Good luck with that

Zotero works a little better for citations, usually, has a lot more of the obscure citation options as well. You just right click on the article and it saves/organizes it for you.

Ooo this one clean too, thank you bruh
Haha nah, I understand why you might say that though. Sounds like you might not have had the best experience with the system? It definitely isn't for everyone
@op
youve got everything you need itt,but if somehow you still cant find an article(also not sure if this works,ive just seen it on twitter)you apparently can contact the author on mail and ask him to mail you a copy because they get 0 dollars if you actually pay for it,every cent goes to the big companies

Yo that sounds extremely interesting, specifically cybernetics, and I can see why it could be hard to pin down haha. Shout out to you for actually going for it and doing it.
Yeah, I'm new but I'm honestly really enjoying it so far. We'll see as the years go how that changes though haha
