When making tracks, should the audio interface knob be turnt all the way up and the DAW volume be adjusted, or the DAW knob turnt all the way up and the interface knob be adjusted?
I don't think it really matters, but I'd keep the audio interface knob lower since it's a much more convenient way of adjusting volume if you need to. You can be a lot more precise if you need to turn it up just a little bit. Also, the signal that goes out of audio interface into your headphones/monitors is a***og and I suppose you would be stressing out your speakers more than if your DAW volume (digital) was higher and then turned down when it goes into the interface (analog).
