Reminder that not only did avatar 1 do good in theaters.
It is also the second highest selling blu ray of all time (only behind frozen) and also the 5th highest selling DVD of all time
Stop saying people only saw it once in theaters

Purely anecdotal but Dolby and IMAX shows were close to selling out for most of the showings, but standard, 3D or 2D, were underperforming at my theater pretty badly.
I read that walk ups are not off to a good start either. Hopefully Friday+Saturday see a big bump but it’s off to a bumpy start

I feel for avatar fans who are to see it opening weekend are the type to go imax or nothing
Bad standard / 3d showings is a sign of bad walk ups.
All I know is I don’t reccomend anyone to see this standard format lol
